Pregnant woman attempts suicide

Angèle Ymele, a young resident of the town of Dschang lies between life and death at a District Hospital in the Menoua Department. The girl of about twenty years and five months pregnant, reportedly attempted suicide by consuming a good amount of petrol.

She was found in a critical condition by her boyfriend, one Gabriel a taxi driver with whom she has been sharing the same room with for a month.

Neighbors of the two lovebirds revealed that the couple were constantly at daggers drawn lately, in an attempt to stop Gabriel from smoking and drinking alcohol.

It was revealed that Angèle had first attempted suicide by hanging on Sunday, March 8, 2015, but was caught by her companion's younger sister. She had been convinced to renounce her actions, but on Monday, she bought a litre of petrol, closed her room before consuming a good amount of it.

She would have died had it not been for the unexpected return of her boyfriend. The family has however not opened up on any reasons why she has attempted repeated suicides beside trying to stop her boyfriend from drinking.
