President Biya’s participation at the US-African summit

President Biya not only keenly followed up debates at the State Department but also made rich contributions on important issues.

During his intervention, he argued that peace and security were important components of a sustainable economic development.

He assured the assembly that in Cameroon, a number of measures have been put in place to combat Boko Haram that has fast become a threat to peace in the sub-region.

Before the debates, Cameroon’s Chief Executive had formal and informal encounters with a number of African leaders, the American President, Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry.

A number of top government officials took part during discussions in the State Department. They included

• Minister-Director of the Civil Cabinet of the President of the Republic Martin Belinga Eboutou

• Minister for External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo

• Minsiter of Mines, Industries and Technological Development Emmanuel Bonde

• Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi

• Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary

• Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic Paul, Atanga Nji
