President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a two-day visit to Cameroon has met the Nigerian community in the country this 29th July 2015.
The meeting with his Nigerian compatriots took place in the afternoon at the Hilton Hotel in Yaounde.
Discussions during the close to two-hour encounter focused on the Boko Haram insurgency and immigration procedures.
The Nigerians in Cameroon raised questions on strategies put in place by Nigeria to combat the terrorist sect, causing havoc in Cameroon and Nigeria.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the Nigerian community to review Cameroon – Nigeria relations and call for the creation of more refineries in Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari in response enlightened his countrymen on the issues raised and called on the Nigerian High Commissioner in Cameroon to revisit the problems the people face in obtaining residence permits.
The Nigerian President also implored his compatriots to respect the laws of their host country and live in harmony as ambassadors of Nigeria.
As the Nigerian nationals stepped out of the meeting hall, they were all smiles; a visible expression of satisfaction after the working session with their President.
