President of the OHADA Council of Ministers visits Y'de Headquarters

The president of the Council of Ministers, Jean Pierre Fogui recently visited the OHADA headquarters in Yaounde so as to familiarise himself with the place before the actual holding of the 36th ministerial meeting in Yaoundé in the forth coming days.

Jean Pierre Fogui, also Minister delegate to the Minister of Justice in charge of seals accompanied by Pierre Titti, the Minister delegate to the Minister of finance, and other members of this forum visited the structures attached to OHADA.


After having been at the Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA), Benin and the common Court of justice and arbitration (CCJA) Côte d'Ivoire, the headquarters of the Organization in Yaoundé, which houses the permanent secretariat was the last stage of this tour.


Jean Pierre Fogui regretted the fact that the organization is still struggling to assume fully, because of the non-regular payment of contributions by Member States. An attitude that is not always possible for OHADA to attain the objectives set by the 17 Member States.


He nevertheless welcomed the fact that this did not prevent the Organization from continuing its activities.

The speech from the president of the Council of Ministers was closely followed by that of the permanent secretary of the OHADA.


Dorothé Cossi Sossa extended an appreciation to the organs and institutions of OHADA on behalf of Cameroon authorities, led by President Paul Biya "which has allowed the Organization to take advantage of the stability enjoyed by Cameroon to expand its activities.


The visit of Jean Pierre Fogui at the OHADA headquarters was completed with a visit to various facilities.
