He was just 28 years old, recruited into Cameroon`s military in 2006.
Nine years later, he rose to the rank of a sergeant and served at the Presidential Guard.
Sergeant William Fouda was found dead in the early hours of 14th April 2015 along a railway line in Yaounde.
No official declaration has been made concerning the cause of death giving room for speculations.
Many believe the young and brave soldier was murdered and dragged over to the railway line to dissimulate foul play.
Very little is known about the soldier but for the fact that he is eldest son of General (Contre Admiral) Joseph Fouda, President Paul Biya’s Aide-de-Camp.
According to eye witness accounts, the body was gravely mutilated giving room for sceptics to affirm he was assassinated elsewhere and placed at that spot.
The panic-stricken population continues to ponder if it was an isolated act of senseless brutality or a settlement of scores.
Is the Sergeant paying for his quick rise within the military or was he killed because he was the son of a frontline state official?
Many who know the father, General Joseph Fouda affirm he is a man of great integrity, discreet and loyal to the state,he definitely has not stepped on any legs.
What then could have been the cause of death of this 28 year old? When and where did the gruesome murder take place? The questions are many at a time when competent authorities have begun investigations.
