The Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure (MINDCAF), Jacqueline Koung à Béssiké, has designed priority projects for 2013 to include the protection and development of State property, modernisation of survey department and carrying out of support projects.

She was speaking during the presentation of New Year wishes by the staff of her ministry in Yaounde on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. To carry out the corruption-free task, she urged the staff to give priority to general interest, render selfless services, process files objectively and combat inertia.

The presentation of the New Year Wishes was a rare moment for the minister to paint a positive balance sheet of her ministry, qualifying 2012 as 'satisfactory'. She further congratulated the entire staff saying instead of the FCFA 2.8 billion revenue collection assigned them in 2012, they tripled the revenue by collecting FCFA 8.4 indicating a 300.9 per cent collection rate. While praising the staff for the surplus revenue collection, she cautioned them to use the FCFA 23 billion authorised budget for 2013 responsibly by respecting stringently the budgetary lines.

On his part, the Secretary General at MINDCAF, Fritz Nasako Gérald, on behalf of the entire staff applauded the minister for reinforcing the surveys department, improving business climate by drafting an entrepreneur's guide and manual on MINDCAF transactions. He also acclaimed the census of survey's technicians carried out to sanitise the profession and the organisation of on-the-job training programmes for the 530 new personnel drawn from the recruitment of 25,000 into the public service.
