Regional Funds for Health Promotion Boosted

An agreement was signed between the State and partners in Yaounde yesterday June 11.

A constituent agreement of Public Interest Group (PIG) referred to as Regional Health Promotion Fund for the North West, South West and Littoral Regions was signed in Yaounde yesterday June 11.

The agreement was between the State of Cameroon represented by the Minister of Public Health, Andre Mama Fouda, the local partners by COSADI and the Health Sector Technical and Financial partners resented by the German Ambassador to Cameroon, Reinhad Buchholz .

Speaking during the occasion, Ambassador Reinhad Buchholz said his country will continue to support the Ministry of Public Health to improve health care delivery in the country.

On his part, Minister Andre Mama Fouda on behalf of the government thanked the technical and financial partners for their contributions in the promotion of health and development. He said the agreement with Regional Health Promotion Funds aims at providing the three regions with veritable decentralized structures of health governance. He added that the similar agreements will be signed with other regions in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, recently appointed officials of the Ministry of Public Health were commissioned yesterday. Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Public Health, Prof. Fru Angwaffo III called on the officials to continue working hard in order to save the image of the ministry.
