Religious officials over the national territory have outrightly condemned the terrorist group Boko Haram.

Airing their views in the local press on Tuesday, 9th September 2014, the spiritual leaders expressed their displeasure with the activities of the terrorist sect.

Rev Salomon Mouotse Nze, Pastor of EEC Ebolowa, called on Cameroonians to rally behind the Head of State, Chief Commander of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya, in the fight.

According to Cheick Mohamad Malik, Imam of the Douala Central Mosque, all sectors of the national economy are directly or indirectly involved in the battle for national security and souverenity.

Rev Dr Charlemagne Nditemeh, a CBC pastor, explained that the CBC has been praying for peace in Cameroon.

His counterpart, Gabriel Kengne, Curator of the Tamdja Catholic Parish called on Cameroonians to be vigilant, while emphasizing that religious differences notwithstanding, we are of the same Fatherland.

Another Imam, Malam Oumarou of the Ebolowa Central Mosque, criticized the sect noting that Islam condemns terrorism in all its forms.

These views come in barely a few weeks after prayers for the nation were held in one of the Presbyterian Churches in Yaounde.
