A two-day capacity building workshop to this effect began in Yaounde yesterday June 20. Personnel of the external services of the Ministry of Water and Energy Resources (MINEE) are currently learning best practices they can embrace to ensure an optimal functioning
of the results-based management sought for by the State. A two-day workshop grouping regional and divisional officials of the various delegations of the ministry went underway in Yaounde yesterday June 20 under the chairmanship of the Secretary General, Malachi Manaouda.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Secretary General said work begins at the decentralised services before getting to the central administration for appraisal and so it was logical to get the personnel abreast with the goings in the ministry especially with expectations of the programme budget so that together they can work as a team to meet their objectives of providing Cameroonians with stable and affordable water and energy resources.
The aim, he noted, is to have personnel of the external services to benefit from human resource development. "There are a number of new concepts that are being used in the administration like the decentrialised career, salary and pension management and which are better applied when understood by everybody," he said. Participants are being schooled on results-oriented management, management of human resources, administrative writing, ethics and deontology as well as the management and follow up of the programme budget.
