Roger Milla Inaugurates Yaounde Multimedia Centre

Vulnerable children in Yaounde can now have access to multimedia services thanks to the inauguration of a Multimedia Centre in the Emombo neighbourhood in Yaounde on Monday October 14, 2013. The centre which is meant for the promotion of the English language and Information and Communication Technologies, is the fruit of partnership between the Roger Milla Foundation, called "Fondation Coeur d'Afrique" and the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the occasion, the founder of Fondation Coeur d'Afrique, Roger Milla said the multimedia centre is for vulnerable children in society who cannot have access to multimedia centres and cybercafés in town. He said the centre is open to orphans and vulnerable children and in future will be open to other youths in society. "Every year two candidates will go and study in the University of Wolverhampton," he further disclosed.

The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in the University of Wolverhampton, Ndy Ekere hailed the humanitarian works of the Roger Milla Foundation in the society in different domains such as health, social works and today education. He said the multimedia centre is the beginning of partnership with the university and promised to work tirelessly to support the works of the foundation.

On his part, the Education Adviser of the University of Wolverhampton, Ghislain Defo said the goal of the institution is to assist Roger Milla in his mission to help and protect vulnerable people in the domain of education. The multimedia centre is free of charge and targets vulnerable people, sportsmen and women and youths.
