The regional Chairman of the SDF for the Littoral has declared results of the SDF Departmental election null and void. The election to select a Departmental Coordinator for the Social Democratic Front (SDF), Wouri was held Sunday in Douala.
Adolphe Lotin Same emerged winner of this election to occupy the position of Deputy Mayor of Douala 1. This meeting had reportedly been banned by the authorities and thus not recognised by the hierarchy of the main opposition party SDF. Jean Michel Nintcheu, current regional President of the Social Democratic Front for the Littoral and Joshua Osih, National Vice-president of the party.
If Ferdinand Asangou, National Secretary of the party and coordinator of this election is satisfied with how things turned out in this election, it is not same for Jean Michel Nintcheu. Nintcheu, as part of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, thus demands that severe sanctions be meted out to organisers. According to him, this tarnishes the image of the SDF, hence the election is rendered null and void.
According to Jean Michel Nintcheu, this election at the head of the departmental coordination of the SDF in Wouri was scheduled to take place in March, according to the official timeline of the party.
