Workers of the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM) have been called to be patient, engaged at work and be determined to attain the objectives of the enterprise because better days lie ahead for them.

The call was made yesterday May 1 at the premises of SOPECAM, by the General Manager of the corporation, Mrs Marie-Claire Nnana as she joined the staff to commemorate the 127th edition of the International Labour Day characterised by dancing and handing of gifts to best workers as well as those going on retirement.

While addressing the staff, the General Manager said despite difficulties presented by the worker's representative, there was need for workers to be patient because the administration is currently working on measures to give the enterprise a facelift at all levels. Mrs Marie-Claire Nnana said already efforts are being made as the enterprise is paying its debt to the National Social Insurance. She added that the association of workers, sport club and the canteen which are operating within the enterprise are measures taken to ensure smooth functioning of SOPECAM.

The General Manager also stressed that with the putting in place of the most modern printing press in the Sub-Sahara Africa which is costing the company some huge sums of money, the timely assistance from the government will soon make the dream a reality. As such, Marie-Claire Nnana told workers that the enterprise was at the final stage of putting in place the printing press which will open a new page in the life of the corporation and workers as well. The General Manager also used the occasion to call on the directors of the different departments to track down workers who are lazy, indiscipline, involved in robbery as well as fraudulent activities for such attitudes will cause the enterprise to lag behind. Wining and dancing characterised feasting which took place in a relaxed and jovial atmosphere.
