It has been difficult for the national system of research and academic innovation to support and promote industrial productivity.

Cameroonian academic research lacks the requisite structures to run university laboratories though these structure are expected to be used by researchers and teachers to hone their multi disciplinary and complementary skills.

It is necessary therefore to put in place a good research University which is well stocked with amenities to give it more coherence and visibility. This will go to strengthen the research base for better information system and to make use of these researches.

The value of University research is to improve the performance of the national innovation system and to channel funding into the commercialization of the results of such researches. This would in turn create a system of development where there will be a form of cooperation and partnerships to facilitate technology transfer between University and industries.

Moreover, as its name suggests, the University serves as a platform on which one progresses considering the development of the human society and mankind.

Another of its essential mission is to train human in its entirety, that is the body, spirit, soul, equipping him with tools and methods to make him self-reliant and to better understand the universe and life in all its richness. This eventually enables him to integrate harmoniously into the society in which it is called to live.

In this connection, the national Union of teachers of higher education (Synes) has produced a white paper to present, analyze and propose solutions to the problems experienced since the 1990s but unfortunately the authorities in charge of its reorientation seem to appreciate and encourage the curve which depicts a ship or an aircraft drifting from its focus. She deviated and continues to deviate from its original direction, under the effect of the winds and contrary currents.
