Seventeen perish in an accident

17 people have been crushed to death in a car accident at Garoua- Boulai in the East Region.

This incident occurred yesterday 26th March in the afternoon.

According to eyewitness account, a truck transporting cement to the Northern Region was plying the highway in a very high speed when it missed its track at a sightless end and collided with a Touristic 70 seaters’ bus heading to the east.

17 people died at the spot while 20 sustained serious injury. Christians amongst the deceased were taken to the Bertoua General Hospital for identification meanwhile the Moslems to the Garoua -Boulai mosque for burial.

Survivors are presently receiving treatment in the hospital.
