A shell suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram exploded in Fotokol, Logone-and-Chari injuring four children Wednesday April 1, 2015, security sources reported.
Security sources stationed on the front line, just at the entrance of the bridge El Beid, reported on Wednesday that, "a shell exploded this morning in the river El Beid separating Fotokol (Cameroon) from Gambarou (Nigeria), injuring four children who, unaware of the danger, had taken it for a toy.
Contacted on the phone late in the evening, a security source told AFRIK.COM that 'the four children are in critical condition. The inhabitants of the town of Fotokol in the extreme north of Cameroon are in shock after this incident.
The border town with Nigeria serves as Camerouno-Chadian offensive against Boko Haram. For several months, Abubakar Shekau tries massive raids in this town of more than 5,000 inhabitants.
