Six people, including four civil Cameroonians, were killed Thursday evening in the extreme-north of Cameroon at the time of two incursions with the Nigerians armed islamists, Boko Haram.

"Boko Haram recently invaded Assighassia" (an area in the Extreme-north), affirmed a senior police officer established in the area."Shooting followed from there between them and our soldiers. Two attackers were killed and a soldier was wounded ", added a police officer who asked not to be mentioned.

In the same evening, other islamists attacked the Cameroonian village of Gansé (extreme-north), killing four people."They shot three people and cut the throat of another ", a local traditional authority on condition of anonymity relayed the details.

"As soon as we heard shots, we climbed the fence to flee into the bushes", said this authority. "The people killed were buried Friday morning and we seek the means of leaving the village because our safety is not guaranteed any more", he added.

The village of Gansé is located near the town of Kolofata which had been the target on July 27 of a bloody attack by Boko Haram. Several people had been killed while many others had been kidnapped.

The wife of a Deputy Prime Minister and a traditional head had also been abducted and are still not released.
