The sixth edition of Cameroon business forum (CBF), which was held Monday in Douala, ended with recommendations to advance the public-private partnership to improve the competitiveness of the national economy.

The forum chaired by the head of Government Philémon Yang, was attended by a dozen members of Government and business under the leadership of the Chamber of commerce, industries, mines and crafts (CCIMA), employer organisations, in this case the Groupement interpatronal of Cameroun (GICAM), companies-Cameroon (ECAM) as well as the movement of Cameroon entrepreneurs (MECAM).

Among the major resolutions mentioned were the simplification of procedures for customs clearance of goods whose objective is to arrive at seven days maximum for imports and two days for exports, the decongesting of the port of Douala, the improvement of communications infrastructure in the ten regions of the country, the improvement of energy supply and better access to credit.

Participants gave a rendez-vous for the evaluation at the beginning of next year, hence they settled on December 2015 as the deadline for achieving most of the resolutions.
