The plan is a promise to the youth made by President Paul Biya last 10th February 2016.

A package of 102 billion CFAF has been allocated for youth orientation, training and financing of specific income-generating activities.

Some of the activities identified by Government include agriculture and ICTs.

The 2017 plan of action that kicked off effectively with the donation of equipment and other resources stipulates that:

- 500.000 youths shall benefit from sensitisation and orientation in specific domains.

- 200.000 youths shall receive technical and entrepreneurial training in collaboration with Non-Governmental bodies.

- 160.000 youths shall receive finances for pre-approved income-generating activities.

By the end of the three-year plan, it is expected that the youth must have been endowed with knowledge and finances necessary for a favourable environment for job creation.

Government’s long-term intention is to make the youth self-reliant, improve on their civic responsibility and enable them become less vulnerable to terrorism.
