Soldier killed in 'cold blood' at Garoua-Boulai

The Sergent-chef Godjé of BIM, was shot dead by some unknown persons on November 21 at a mining site in Mborguene.

A group of heavily armed thugs embarked on a robbery at a mine site operated by Chinese society Africa, based in Mborguene, a village about 50 miles from Garoua-Boulai, capital of the district. According to corroborating sources, the bandits shot Sergeant Godje, who was the security on the site and took his weapon.

Fonjou Koueke, a driver employed by the Chinese company who wanted to give the alert was also shot in his left leg. According to our source, "the assailants who took their victim’s weapon could also be military men, considering the speed at which they conducted this operation which lasted only a few minutes.

Moreover, the attackers took the trouble to pick up all the shell casings to hinder investigation. These highwaymen took mobile phones of the workers, money and a large amount of gold, not determined. The same sources noted that "the attackers in question expressed themselves in Foufoulbe and Sango. The remains of the deceased is currently in the mortuary of the regional hospital of Bertoua and the assailants are still on the loose.
