The school’s cultural week organised by students began in Yaounde on May 26, 2016.

The National School of Magistracy and Administration, ENAM, on May 26, 2016, in Yaounde, launched its cultural week on the theme, “ENAM at the service of modern administration.” The event, running till May 28, 2016, is organised by the ENAM Students Sports and Cultural Association, ASCENDAM.

Opening the activities, the Director General of ENAM, Linus Toussaint Mendjana, cited President Paul Biya as noting in the past that in spite of several efforts, the Civil Service continues to be blamed for its lapses. The Head of State therefore directed that no efforts be spared in improving service delivery in the Civil Service. As trainer of high-level functionaries, Linus Toussaint Mendjana said his school was also concerned by the statements of the Head of State. He described the cultural week as an avenue for students to express their sports, intellectual and cultural talents.

The President of ASCENAM, Mohamadou El Hadj Harouna, explained that the choice of the theme was informed by ongoing Public Service reforms. He said the week enables ENAM to demystify itself by throwing its doors wide open to the public in order to correct the negative perception some people have of the school. El Hadj Harouna added that ENAM is doing everything to keep abreast with the changes in the country by professionalising its courses.

Activities during the event include lectures, a cross country race, gala and cultural entertainment, the organisation of exhibitions with the participation of ENAM departments, higher institutions, ministries and State agencies. A mini-football tournament has also been organised with other higher institutes in the capital.
