His lordship Jean Mbarga, Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde has called on staff and students of the Saint Theresa Seminary of Mvolye in Yaounde to work in love to ensure the continuous growth of the seminary as well as the work of God in Cameroon.

He was speaking over the weekend at the seminary premises during a special mass to celebrate the institution’s 50 years of existence. The special mass was attended by several members of government, six other bishops, former as well as current students of the institution. It was an occasion to congratulate those who have ensured that the Saint Theresa seminary which was created in 1965 grow to what it is today.

Taking reference from the theme of celebration “50 Years Of The Love Of God and The Training Of Man”, Mgr Jean Mbarga, told those at the seminary to continue to work for God in love for to love is to sacrifice for the Lord which will make a difference in the eyes of the world in what they are doing.

Reading from the biblical book of Isaiah, His Lordship Mgr Jean Mbarga said just like Isaiah and his good works in the bible, those at the seminary should continue the good works of the institutions so that that the church of Christ will grow and celebrate many more years of existence.

He insisted that workers at the seminary should keep the heritage given to them and make it grow both spiritually and educationally, so that it will remain as a reference and a motto which says “let’s move higher and higher, and that Christians of Saint Theresa are theresians for ever and for life”. Mgr Jean Mbarga compared Saint Theresa to a tree.

He said that a tree that produces good fruits should not be cut down and that Saint Theresa is one of those trees that produce good fruits so workers in the institutions need to keep it growing for more fruits to grow.

It was an occasion for best students in the seminary to be awarded prizes. Also, personnel of the seminary were awarded labour medals which according to Jean Mbarga are a sign to approve that they have moved according to the way the almighty God wants them to walk and that they will not depart from it.
