Students of Ecole publique d’Ekoudou in Yaoundé welcomed notables from the department of National Security, led by the inspector general Cécile Oyono, the Divisional Commissioner on Wednesday morning.
Activities marking the celebration of the international day of woman was done alongside educational talks organized as part of the celebration.
On the menu were lessons on civic education and attitudes to adopt both inside and outside the educational environment. In turn, the main police Commissioner, in service to the Office of the Commissioner of public safety of the 10th arrondissement of Bastos, Isabelle Fouda, the Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Ekitti and the Commander of security campaigns in school and university establishments, Albert Bello had an interactive session with the children.
Students were advised to avoid drugs, alcohol and other substances which may lead to uncontrolled acts. Emphasis was placed on respect for others, particularly those in authority like teachers.
On health, students were schooled on the measures to take to avoid sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancies. And because they are often exposed to multiple assaults, it was recommended that students dial the number 1500 in case of attack.
The inspector general Oyono mainly informed the students that they should not be bad children because they are the future of Cameroon. This exercise of civic education was also carried out at the Government bilingual practising school (GBPPS), administrative centre, ycée bilingue d’application in Yaoundé as well as at the University of Yaoundé II Soa.
