Nineteen (19) Sam7 anti-air missiles were discovered in the vehicle of Mahamat Bichara Gnorti while he was preparing to cross the Sudanese border to Chad.
Mahamat Bichara Gnorti of Chadian nationality was placed under arrest on 17 November by the Sudanese secret services in the locality of Al-Jeneina, provincial capital of West Darfur, located about twenty kilometers from the city of Adré in Chad.
"The Sudanese authorities have been in serious discussions since November 17, date when a Chadian citizen was detained on their territory, not far from the border with Chad, in possession of 19 Sam7 anti-air missiles: a terrifying cargo which was intended for Boko Haram in Nigeria and whose sponsor was reportedly stated as Idriss Deby Itno!", indicated the Ndjamena-morning site who reported the incident.
The pass signed by the Chadian authorities did not convince the sudden secret services who insisted on searching the big carrier of Mahamat Bichara Gnorti.
This document instead "aroused the curiosity among the Sudanese who then decided to search the truck". At the end of their search, the Sudanese found crates containing "19 anti-aircraft missiles out straight from the arsenals of the Sudanese army stocks”.
Conducted under good escort to the premises of the military police of Sudan, Mahamat Bichara Gnorti quickly confessed. "He obtained this material after having corrupted half a dozen senior officers of the Sudanese army," recounted the Chadian newspaper. "Pushing their interrogation more thoroughly, the Sudanese admitted to the fact that it is Idriss Deby Itno, president of the Republic of Chad, who entrusted him to acquire this material and transport them to North Nigeria where people whom he had provided their phone numbers will come for the weapons at a specific location," informed Ndjamena-morning.
Ndjamena-morning presents Mahamat Bichara Gnorti as a "mysterious character" who control all corridors of the Chadian Presidency and meets the Chadian Head of State at any time."
If Chad is still silent facing all accusations, the Nigeria Tribune indicates that Abuja has launched investigations on possible links between the authorities of Chad and the boko haram sect and if the facts are proven, "appropriate measures will be taken against the Chadian president", noted Nigeria Tribune.
