Mbarga Amougou Boris Joël who admitted committing the murder of Lethycia Singoa Onana was referred to the Prosecutor's office.

He confessed, disclosing to the elements of the Division of the judicial police (DRPJ) of the Centre the details of this sordid night. Night where he, Mbarga Amougou Boris Joël, murdered Lethycia Singoa Onana, 20 years old student in her 3rd year in economics and management at the University of Yaoundé II-Soa.

According to the statements of the alleged murderer, it was an attack but the victim resisted his assailant while he attempted to steal her bag and phone. He had taken her into a Bush behind the Soa campus football stadium, near the mini-cite of the student where he killed her.

The circumstances of this tragedy are still blurred, because Lethycia Singoa Onana’s body was found on 20 January, two weeks after her disappearance on 6 January. According to investigators, it is her friend who filed a complaint with the judicial police, after receiving calls from the suspect.

Later he claimed a ransom of 75,000 F against the release of her companion. The investigation eventually led elements of the DRPJ to the arrest of Mbarga Amougou Boris Joël.

And as noted by the police, the alleged murderer has once been sent to prison following the disappearance of his girlfriend but was acquitted for lack of evidence.
