Former general manager of CRTV and 16 other defendants have been accused of embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds by coercion.

Gervais Mendo Ze was at the Special Criminal Court on December 8. He was accused of an embezzlement coercion of nearly 18 billion FCFA.

The facts that have been notified to him by Yap Abdou, president of collegiality go back to the period from January 2004 to January 2005.

The former general manager of CRTV was notified of the diversion in coercion with Jean Marie Akono Ze, the Mayor of Awae, who was the former accountant at CRTV, the sum of FCFA 15,265,938,801.

A sum of money that would have been diverted through various ways including the unjustified payment of the license fee performance bonuses in 2004, by the undue payment of a transport allowance valued at 600,000 and 15 million FCFA Premium representations.

The total amount of the diverted sum amounted to almost 33 billion FCFA. Out of the 16 accused in the perpetration of public funds embezzlement, Prof. Gervais Mendo with Ze, 11 others were present.

They were also accused of undue payment of performance awards of the license fee to CRTV in 2004. Dieudonne Epo, the senior tax inspector, chief of the division for cooperation Conac, requested to stay off the proceedings against him.

The Attorney General also signed the dropping of charges against him on October 20. Another accused, Colette Menga, also made the same request for the break of proceedings. It is still being processed.

At the time of notification of the charges, all the accused pleaded not guilty. Among the five absent at TCS, three are fugitives, including Samuel Andang Mgbwa, Patricia Malone, and Elisabeth Mongori. The other two died.

As a reminder of the facts, Gervais Mendo Ze was placed in custody November 12, 2014, including Marie Christine Nguélé, CRTV journalist, Pascal Atangana Mekoulou Manga, and Ndongo. The parties were asked to produce lists of witnesses. The next hearing is scheduled for December 17.
