The national ranking of institutions of education has revealed that some general schools performed better than technical schools comparatively.
In the national ranking of institutions of education per session for 2014, delivered by the Office of the Bachelor of Cameroon (CBO) last week, public institutions were graded as, good, bad or appropriate.
Out of the 1,035 establishments’ competitive exams administered by the OBC, 607 public institutions were ranked and it included general and technical schools.
Among the top 10, three schools in this ranking come from rural areas, South and Northwest regions. The Ngoulemakong High School placed first, bilingual school Ndop, second and Ngomedzap high school fourth.
The other seven are located in three regions of which the Centre, three in the Littoral and three in the West.
In this ranking, it emerges a fact that no technical secondary school placed in the top 10 high schools. The last places were occupied by two technical schools while two general education were among the final five.
The last class is the technical school Ayos with 03.91% success rate, occupies the 1,035th spot. The other four: High School Waza, 8.45% and 1,030th, high school Tchevi, 8.17%, 1,032nd, technical school Touboro, 7; 46% 1,033rd and high school Logone Birni, 5.08%, 1,034th come from very remote areas of the North and the Far North.
