The central mosque of Bertoua will no more be entitled to the sermon of its principal preacher who died at the age of 95, on July 10.
Imam Ousseini, who spent thirty years of his life preaching in the mosque, died after a brief illness. According to his wife, Hadja Aissatou, the imam Ousseini suffered from back pain a few days to his death.
On her part, she did not doubt a single moment that her husband was going to recover his health. After a few days of hospitalization, the preacher felt better, to the point that he returned to resume his work.
According to his wife, he continued to preach the good word of Allah and then he entered into a coma, until he was again weakened by the disease.
He spent five days in this State and Muslim faithfuls wondered about his situation. Unfortunately, the back pain, which he suffered, resumed and finally the Imam died at the aged of 95 leaving behind several children.
He dedicated more than half of his life to Allah, and to teach the Koran.
According to his wife, it was in 1960 that her husband became Imam. He served in the Bertoua mosque during the year 1960, before being made head of the central mosque of Bertoua.
For him, the meaning of service to God grew after his designation to this mosque. He offered his services for approximately 30 years in this central mosque in the city of Bertoua. He is distinguished by his message, which is much appreciated by the Muslim faithfuls.
He had peace as a central message during his sermons. During his life on earth, he condemned the vague sect Boko Haram, which advocates violence, contrary to the principles of Islam. His departure leaves a vacuum in the Muslim community.
