Paul Biya, the Head of State, will chair the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) on 18 December.
The President of the Republic has signed a large number of decrees and texts, including the convening of the Higher Judicial Council that will take place on 18 December.
It will have in its agenda, the integration into the judiciary about 600 new lawyers, graduated from the National School of Administration and of the Magistracy (ENAM) anxiously awaiting their absorption into the public service.
The nomination files and assignments of judges in all the courts of the country and the Department of Justice should also be validated. Promotion or advancement to the ranks of some prosecutors should also furnish the agenda on 18 December. Disciplinary matters as usual will also be discussed during this session of the Higher Judicial Council.
The last High Council of the Judiciary was held on 18 April 2012 at Unity Palace, chaired by Paul Biya. The holding of the said Council meeting had allowed the appointment of new men to the Special Criminal Court (TCS), the integration of law school graduates of Enam in the body of the judiciary, and also the promotion or advancement of grades and seats for some prosecutors.
