Tons of illicit drugs estimated at nearly 500 million CFA francs were destroyed by incineration in Bamenda in the Northwest region.

According to sources close to the operation, it's basically "Street" drugs intercepted during controls by the Government and the national order of pharmacists of Cameroon (DNCO) with the aim of intensifying the fight against the sale of street drugs.

Over the past two months, three trucks of 20 tons of drugs from Nigeria were confiscated. They were put at the disposal of the judicial authorities, their operation having allowed them to better understand the traffic around the medicines with sometimes the involvement of authorities.
