Traditional councilors, quarter heads of Mbakwa Supe appointed

Indigenes of Great Mbakwa Supe, a village along the Kumba-Mamfe Road, in Konye Sub Division, have expressed great joy to see their village get a new traditional council team and quarter heads.

It was like a new dawn for the people, as the population recently turned out in their numbers to be living witnesses of the installation of 26 members of the Village Traditional Council and 12 Quarter Heads.

The appointment rituals were performed by HRH Chief Motase David Ngoh, Traditional Ruler of the Mbakwa Supe Chiefdom.

It should be recalled that the hitherto Traditional Council was suspended in 2011 by the Chief due to several complaints concerning the manner in which they were handling issues in the village and more financial scandal had equally rocked the council.

Following a crucial examination of the situation, the Chief hinted that he asked the 16 kingmakers of the village representing the 16 families that make up the village to each select refine and level headed men of substance and calibre from their respective families for them to form the council.

He equally noted with joy that that the family heads did their best, taking into consideration the fact that the village needs to move ahead in terms of development.

He cautioned his kith and kins to shun backstabbing, gossiping, hatred and jealousy, for as he puts it ”divided we bark and united we bite”.

He opined that his dream is to see Mbakwa Supe develop to be the best village in the area especially as the Kumba-Mamfe Road will soon be constructed.

While commissioning the councilors headed by Councilor Etinge Itoe Emmanuel, and the Quarter Heads headed by Sakwe Musango Joseph, Chief Motase advised them to be judges of good faith and not bad faith, reminding them that they shouldn’t transform their spheres of operation into courts.

The one time Vice Speaker of the National Assembly with the NUDP party Hon Chief Motase Ngoh David, Called on the village authorities to make good use of the Village Regent, Tukwa Alexander Matuka, whom he described as the right man in the right place.

The leader of the Quarter Heads Sakwe Musango Joseph, on his part told the Village Chief that now that a new team has been empowered by his traditional blessings, things will never be the same again for the Village.

He opined that regular clean up campaigns will be done in the village and constant check on stray domestic animals will be conducted and the financial records of the council equally put straight.

Talking to The Sun ,the Chairman of the Traditional Council, Councilor Etinge Itoe Emmanuel, a retired Health Administrator, disclosed that he will use his rich professional background to see that the dream of the Traditional Ruler Hon Chief Motase to see his village transformed into a place to be over night is attained.
