Some students in Yaounde have been informed on jobs linked to this sector in the country.
Some 100 young people in Yaounde, particularly those looking for jobs, have been orientated on the different trainings and job opportunities available in the transport and logistic sector in the country. This was during a Career-Zoom meeting organised yesterday March 26 by the School, University and Vocational Counselling Pilot Project (COSUP), of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP).
While noting that the aim of the meeting is to eradicate unemployment and underemployment, the Coordinator of the Project, Gaston Wouafeu, explained that many job seekers in the country are not aware of jobs available in the transport and logistic sector. Given that the sea port, railway and road sectors in the country are evolving, Gastou Wouafeu said there was need to gather students as well as job seekers in a bid to inform them about the different jobs that exist in the transport and logistic sector in the country as well as the different training centres which are mostly in Douala and Yaounde and how to gain admission into these different structures.
During the gathering, experts from the different transport training centres such as the Centre Régional de Formation et de Développement (CERFOD) informed youths of studying curriculum in such a school as well as other requirements. The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training also used the occasion to inform youths about training scholarships in the transport and logistic sector and other initiatives taken to promote the transport and logistic sector in cameroon.
