Tunisian Ambassador leaves Cameroon

The outgoing Ambassador of Tunisia to Cameroon, Abderrazak Landoulsi leaves the country after close to five years of his diplomatic mission. He was honoured for his contribution towards the boosting of Cameroon-Tunisia relations.

On behalf of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum, decorated Abderrazak Landoulsi with the medal of the Grand Officer of the National Order of Valour during a State dinner organized in his honoure at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel on March 6, 2015.

This was in the presence of some cabinet ministers and senior staff of the Tunisian embassy in Yaounde.

Speaking during the State dinner offered on behalf of the Head of State, Adoum Gargoum lauded the growing relations between the two countries, especially in the health, trade, tourism and the educational levels.

He said Cameroon was committed to eradicating Boko Haram sect, stating that Cameroon counts on the Tunisian experience in the ongoing war against Boko Haram.

Ambassador Abderrazak Landoulsi described relations between Cameroon and Tunisia as being excellent, stating that they have been intensified and diversified. He said the growing relations were in the domains of trade, health, technical cooperation and higher education with Cameroonian students awarded scholarships to study in Tunisia. The Ambassador also disclosed that Tunisian enterprises were operating in Cameroon.

He appreciated the State dinner organized in his honour and the medal as signs of growing friendship. The Tunisian diplomat expressed satisfaction at the putting in place of the Senate in Cameroon and successful organization of presidential, legislative, council and senatorial elections in the country.

He equally expressed gratitude for Cameroon’s support to the democratic transition in Tunisia.
