Turkey to support CMR in fight against terrorism

The Ambassador of Turkey to Cameroon, Omer Faruk Dogan, has indicated that Turkey is ready to cooperate closely in the fight against terrorism in Cameroon. This is due to the resurgence of the Boko Haram attacks in the North of the country.

"We see with great sadness that Cameroon is moving towards an atmosphere of destabilization, chaos and crisis through the attacks perpetrated in the North of the country affecting the stability of the country”, said the head of diplomacy, who was speaking at the inauguration of the first edition of the Turkish products fair, Wednesday.

Dogan condemned these attacks with great firmness and expressed the support of Turkey in Cameroon.

According to him, “Turkey is willing to cooperate closely and share experience concerning the fight against terrorism, and supports any effort by the Government of Cameroon in this legitimate fight".

The Turkish diplomat also added that Turkey is against any act intended to destabilize and weaken its biggest partner in the region.

"Cooperate and collaborate with a stable and prosperous nation from the point of view of political, economic and commercial will contribute to the development of the entire sub-region which passes through very difficult times and cannot be tackled without very close international cooperation", he noted.

He further said, “Cameroon, because of its geostrategic position, is not only the gateway to the countries of the Central Africa region but also the door opening and free alternative of the region to the outside".

Finally, the Ambassador reaffirmed the position that Turkey will take its place among the 10 first world powers from here in 2023 and who shares the vision of great achievements that is to make Cameroon a country developed in 2035 at all levels.
