U.S official learns about Cameroon elections process

The Deputy Assistant Secretary with the Department of State, Bureau of African Affairs who is also Special U.S Representative for Central African Republic His Excellency W. Stuart Symington has met with the Deputy Director General of Elections Cameroon Erik Essousse.

The United States Official was in Elections Cameroon to be familiarised with Cameroon’s voting system. During his encounter with ELECAM officials he was informed of the great stride the country is making in advancing democracy.

As a Special Representative for the Central African Republic W. Stuart Symington, was at Elections Cameroon to inquire ways of ensuring free and fair elections in the forth coming elections in the Central African Republic.

While referring to the forth coming elections in the Central African Republic, Stuart Symington lauded Cameroon’s participation in guaranteeing peace and security in the Central African Republic.

At the end of the audience, the visiting official expressed gratitude to Cameroon for its role in ensuring political stability in the Central African Republic, the forth coming elections in the country will be the beginning of a true democratic process.

Before going to ELECAM he was received in audience by some top Government officials such as the Prime Minister and Head of Government and the Minister of Economy Planning and Regional Development.

Mr. Symington was previously the U.S Ambassador to Rwanda.
