UCSA President on contact visit in Cameroon

The newly elected president of the Union of African Sports Confederations, UCSA, Egyptian born General Ahmed Naser Moustapha, Kamal Mohamed is on contact tour in Cameroon with some organisations that work in collaboration with them. The UCSA president paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education and to the National Olympic and Sports committee.

Speaking during the audience with the sports minister, Ahmed Naser said he had come to thank the minister for the support his organisation has been receiving from the Cameroon government notably by hosting the head office of UCSA and providing two staff. Like the proverbial Oliver Twist, General Naser asked for financial assistance to cover the running cost of the head office in Yaounde. He also called on the Minister to help establish the game of triathlon in Cameroon.

The Minister of sports and Physical education declared the readiness of his ministry to continue collaboration with UCSA promising to channel the financial request to hierarchy for appreciation. He said he was at the service of the people to make sports an instrument of development.

At the Olympic Committee the UCSA president was received by the vice president, Gregoire Owona who wished General Ahmed Naser welcome and good stay in Cameroon. The Olympic committee presented its activities and projects to the UCASA president with emphasis on the national games, DIXIADES and the project to construct an Olympic village in Obala.

Activities which impressed the visiting UCSA president who said Cameroon is a great sports country in Africa. The general signed the Olympic committee book of memories, after which there was an exchange of gifts between UCSA and CNOSC. Earlier in the day, the UCSA president was received in audience by the minister of External Relations.
