UN thanks Cameroon for a job well done in CAR

Herve Ladsous, deputy SG to peace-keeping operations was received in audience last Saturday by the PM While he was en route to the Central African Republic (CAR).

The integrated multidimensional United Nations Mission for stabilization in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) supports the relay of the international Mission of Support to the Central African Republic (MISCA), Herve Ladsous, new assistant secretary general for peacekeeping operations of the United Nations (UN), was received Saturday by the Prime Minister, leader of the government, Philemon Yang.

At the end of the interview, the head of the department of peacekeeping operations to the UN stated that "he came to meet with the Cameroonian authorities before traveling to Central African Republic. The UN diplomat added that he wanted to present to the government of Cameroon a message of deep gratitude for all that Cameroon has made over the years to support the action of the international community" he revealed

More than ever, he continued, "we have to work hand in hand to bring out the CAR from its present situation". Speaking of what is going to change in CAR with the advent of the MINUSCA, Herve Ladsous revealed that the UN provides additional troops that come from other parts of the world, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, etc.

In addition to the enlargement of contributions, he added that the peace-keeping missions of the United Nations provide a perspective to both political and integrated, as a vector for the promotion of human rights and the rule of law, and then accompanying the process of disarmament and demobilization of ex-combatants.

Seasoned diplomat of French nationality, Herve Ladsous was accompanied by the special representative of the UN SG to the CAR, General Babacar Gaye. Before going to see the PM, Mr. Ladsous was received by the minister delegate at the presidency of the Republic responsible for Defense, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o.
