Some leaders of the Union des Populations du Cameroun (UPC) such as Robert Bapooh Lipot and Pierre Sende have been meeting with party supporters to galvanise more support ahead of the September 30 double elections. In line with the party's pre-campaign activities, the two officials led a delegation to Messondo on September 7, 2013 and Dibang on September 8, 2013; all in Nyong and Kelle Division of the Centre Region.

In both localities, the message was the same; inviting supporters to withdraw their voters' cards as the party works towards victory. Bapooh Lipot told Cameroon Tribune on Sunday September 8 as his team prepared to take off for Dibang that time waits for no one and the party was poised for victory; reason why they were not relenting efforts to meet with party grassroots. While in Messondo, Bapooh Lipot said party candidates like Djon II Evelyne and Mrs Samnick joined voices to sensitise UPC supporters to collect voters' cards and wait for election day to cast their votes.

The meeting in Messondo saw party officials reflect on how to mobilise funds for campaign that is expected to begin by weekend. Bapooh Lipot said their political actions were being stalled by the late acquisition of finances, especially what is expected from the State. Notwithstanding, the battle continues and party officials remain confident that they are going to emerge victorious.

"UPC is highly awaited by the population especially in some of its strongholds like Nyong and Kelle in the Centre Region and Sanaga Maritime Division in the Littoral Region," Bapooh said, reiterating that their chances remain in tack.
