US, Cameroon partner to protect wildlife

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife has received in audience the Head of the Africa Programs at the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Dirck Byler.

The audience which took place on 30th September was an occasion for Minister Ngole Philip Ngwese and Mr Dirck Byler, to discuss ways to fight against wildlife abuse in Cameroon.

The US official who was accompanied by his country’s Ambassador to Cameroon His Excellency Micheal Stephen Hoza emphasized on the need to protect Cameroon’s biodiversity, especially the country’s game reserves, forest zones and also fight against sea and land pollution.

The importance of investing in the Faunal School in Garoua , a school to train Cameroonians in the fight against environment ills like pollution, deforestation and the destruction of habitats was also discussed.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife expressed gratitude to the officials hoping that the new partnership shall be extended to other domains in the protection of the country’s biodiversity.
