'United for Cameroon' to march against Boko Haram

The collective 'United for Cameroon' multiplies meetings for the Republican March against Boko Haram from February 28.

They originate from various parts of Cameroon and include journalist such as Polycarpe Essomba, Eric Benjamin Lamère, Guibaï Gatama, Thierry Ngogang and Raoul Simplice Minlo.

They have the ambition to "weld the country, create a union around the war against the sect Boko Haram beyond regions, ethnic groups, all political and religious beliefs."

For more than a month now, they have been coming together to achieve this goal. "We say to politicians approaching us that the event is voluntary and free but non-partisan. Everyone can participate but without holding the badge of a political party," noted Thierry Ngogang.

Three weeks prior to the chosen date, a mobilization campaign has been launched. This was done to optimize the major social networks frequented by Cameroonians (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube) as it relies mainly on social networks.

Facebook and a community manager account has already been created. TV and radio spots will be designed, emphasizing unity and solidarity through both stakeholders from civil society, the political class, business, religious" indicated Raoul Simplice Minlo.
