Some 42 students of the Universitè des Montangnes in the West Region have received their end of course attestations after successfully defending their theses in medicine and pharmacy at the Banekane campus in Bangante.
The 42 student doctors who came to the end of their seven years courses in medicine and pharmacy, and other related health subjects in the Universitè des Montangnes, carefully succeeded in presenting their academic research thesis in various health topics carried out in research centers and hospitals in the country. Some 20 Professors in medicine drawn from the Faculties of medicine of the Université Paul Sabatier,Toulouse111, France, Université Catholique de Lille and Université des Montangnes judged and tested the written and research work of some 68 medical students, but were only able to validate as successful the research work of 42 students.
Announcing the results the president of the panel of juries, Professor Bernard Boneu said a total of 68 students sat for end of course certificates, 16 students failed at the written part, 4 failed at the practical, while 42 succeeded in both written and orals sessions of the examinations, scoring 61 per cent, adding that those who did not make it this time will refine their research work for next December session.
Amongst the members of the panel are renown Professors of medicine, like Professors Kaptue Lazare, Prof. Gabriel Camelot of Universté de Frache Comte Besancon, Prof. Jacques Cousin, Prof. Colette Creusy and Prof. Albert Dutiot all of Université Catholique de Lille France, Prof. Andre Barret, Toulouse France, Professors, Robert Leke, Magloire Biwole Sida, Jeanne Ngogang, Ambroise Kom, Balaam Facho, Lysette Koumeni and Christine Man dengue of Université des Montangnes.
Addressing members of the panel at the end of evaluation exercise, Professor Kaptue Lazare, said the Université des Montangnes was out to set better academic standards, adding that most medical doctors from the institution, working in both public and private sectors in and out of the country are doing find professionally wise. He said Université des Montangnes with authorization of the Ministry of Higher Education, signed a convention with Université de Sabatier, Toulouse III, France, where both institutions since 2011, have been working together in medical exchange programmes. Prof. Kaptue said professors of these foreign Universities have continued to assist in research thesis work of students in the institution.
