University of Bamenda - Pioneer V.Cs, Directors Inducted

The State University of Bamenda welcomed Pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellors, Directors and Advisers to promote good governance and academic excellence in what is known as the "University of the Future".

The Vice Chancellor, Prof.Tafah Edocat Edward commissioned them to work as a solid team towards making the University, the blue print of science in all its ramifications and why not, the Harvard of Africa. Staring the team at the face is the challenge to transform the institution from its primary phase of University development to a tertiary phase reflective of international standards in E-Learning, interuniversity cooperation and advanced media research.

The team, most of who emerge as pure and genuine products of Anglo-Saxon education include Prof.Mbofung Carl Moses Funtong as Registrar, Prof.Petang Chrispin, the Pioneer Director of Development, Physical Plant, Infrastructure and and Prof.Galega Sangena as Director of Student Affairs. The latter has the cumbersome role to safeguard against students' discontents and strike actions and ensure that the Divisions of housing and catering, sports and recreation, admissions and records and health are put to the best advantage of students.

Deputy Vice Chancellors inducted included Prof. Etienne Ze Amvela, Prof. Fritz Ndiva Mbua and Prof.Dashaco John Tambutoh while Prof. Tang Alice is the Technical Adviser. Pioneer Directors of the University of Bamenda include, Dr Jua Rosaline, Soyang Evaristus, Mboh Patrice Lumumba, Prof Lukong Cornelius Fai, Prof Akume Daniel and Prof Kuaban Christopher. The presidential decree of August 6, 2012 appointed them to serve the University that was created on the strength of December 4, 2012 presidential decree.
