Uproar in Wum: Government concerned with situation

Two Government Ministers have gone to Wum in the Menchum Division of the North West Region to assess the situation following the uproar after a soldier allegedly stabbed a bike rider, Ngong Leonard to death.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Rene Emmanuel Sadi and Minister of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo were in Wum under instructions from the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya.

The Ministers extended the Head of State’s condolences to the bereaved family saying the country is a state of law hence, the President condemns the act of the murderer and the consequent vandalism carried out by the population.

As investigations continue on the matter, the Ministers indicated that they will report the situation to the Head of State who will make sure the culprits face the law.
