Analysts already predict that, like his predecessor Gervais Mendo Ze, the sacking of Amadou Vamoulke could mean that the former DG of the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) should report on financial crimes he allegedly committed.

It is worth mentioning that Amadou Vamoulke was a regular visitor of the Special Criminal Court (SCC) as part of an alleged embezzlement. The Guardian Post newspaper of Thursday, June 30, 2016 certifies that the former General Manager of CRTV has been heard many times by Annie Bahonoui Sorelle, the Special Criminal Court judge.

Amadou Vamoulke is accused of embezzling billions of CFA in complicity with former General Manager Prof. Gervais Mendo Ze, currently in custody in Kondengui central prison. The two men are accused of embezzling money in the coffers of CRTV Marketing Communication Agency (CMCA).

Vamoulke, who succeeded Mendo Ze in January 2005, have tarnished his image during a recent interruption of the speech of the Head of State on the antenna of the CRTV-TV, the newspaper said.

However, Vamoulke is to be commended for introducing a number of reforms to the state television. He said he had done everything, despite limited resources, to provide high-quality materials to national and regional stations of CRTV.

Vamoulke is also to be commended for the introduction of the co-presentation of news in “prime time“, and allowed the television programs and radio to function 24/24.

Recently he announced the creation of six new specialized television channels and radio stations. He is also praised for giving a chance to young journalists to excel. He also permitted the expansion of CRTV signals in the most remote areas of the country.
