“She planned to blow herself up in a rice distribution centre”. Mahama Malla, Chairman of Mozogo vigilante committee, is more than sure of his words. The female suicide bomber was killed at about 6 pm on March 30, 2016, as she planned to blow herself up in a rice distribution centre in the sub-division.

“She was hit by two members of the vigilante committees. She was neutralised by Yacoubou and Rissa Moussa of the Mozogo vigilante committee, and the vigilante committee of Achigachia respectively,“ said Mahama Malla.

The suicide bomber who had entered the city through Yamgazawa, that is, the side of the border with Nigeria was betrayed by her outfit and was spotted by Rissa Moussa, who raised the alarm immediately.

L’oeil du Sahel states that Mahama Malla, however, regrets the lack of resources. In short, the Mozogo vigilante committee does not even have a motorcycle to patrol or for emergency response.

Despite these difficulties, the vigilante committees are still up to the task against Boko Haram Islamic sect. On the night of March 29, 2016, Mala and Harouna, members of the sect, were offset by the Homaka vigilante committee.

The same night, their colleagues Kossa and Madina ambushed the tanker of the sect on the Gogo-Galdiwa highway injuring the terrorists. The day before, terrorists had managed to kill, Siradji, Lawan Oumaté.
