War weapons seized, arrests made by police at Ekounou

The delegate-General of national security (DGSN) Martin Mbarga Nguelé mandated the immediate opening of an inquiry to make the facts of the case clear.

The Ekounou district was the scene of a real commando operation carried out by police from Friday 03 to Saturday, October 04, 2014. According to information, elements of the special rapid intervention teams (ESIR), supported by those of the special operations group (GSO) laid hands on a large cache of weapons as well as on alleged robbers.

While an extensive investigation has to be conducted by the DGSN Martin Mbarga in person, apprehended criminals and their accomplices are kept at direction de surveillance du territoire (DST).
