We thank God for President Biya – Prince Ekale Mukete

Militants of the ruling CPDM party in Kumba have been told that Cameroonians should be thankful to God for giving to them a president, the caliber of His Excellency President Paul Biya.

The President of Meme I A Section of the CPDM, with headquarters in Njuki, Prince Ekale Mukete made this declaration on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 29th anniversary of that party that took place at the party secretariat on Monday, March 24, 2014. Four speeches were delivered during the celebration that was graced by the presence of Senator Nfon V.E. who also doubles as the head of the central committee delegation.

The president of the youth wing, John Kinge delivered the welcome speech, followed by a speech by the president of the women’s wing Beatrice Mbone Ntuba. Senator Nfon V.E. Mukete delivered the fourth speech after that of the Section President Prince Ekale Mukete.

In his speech, Prince Ekale lauded the positive evolution of the CPDM party culminating to the splitting of the lone CPDM section in Kumba into three sections viz: CPDM Meme IA, CPDM Meme IB and CPDM Meme IC with headquarters in Njuki, Fiango and Mambanda. Chronicling the sweeping political victories of the CPDM in Kumba at the polls, Prince Ekale added that the split of the party was positive in that it brought the CPDM closer to the people.

Continuing, Prince Ekale Mukete said Cameroonians should forever be thankful to god for giving them a President in he caliber of President Paul Biya, who over the years has successfully steered the ship of state in a turbulent region as well as ensuring economic development.

He later read the message of the secretary General of the CPDM for Central Committee Jean Kuetethe anniversary.

Also attending the anniversary celebration were Minister Benjamin Itoe and wife, the Government Delegate to the Kumba City Council, Victor Ngoh Nkele.

The administration was presented by the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Mbua Epole Wane Verclin, the Divisional Officer for Kumba Central, (Kumba I) Duala Charles. Senator Nfon V.E. Mukete in his speech thanked the CPDM militants for doing a good job but hoped that the situation be improved in the future.

Probably referring to the 30th September municipal and parliamentary elections, at which the SDF won the three councils and the lone parliamentary seat, Nfon Mukete added that the CPDM was not supposed to be humiliated in own constituency.

Also probably referring to what some persons have said the victory of the SDF was a sanction vote against the Muketes, the Nfon Mukete without mentioning any names said the president is not the party and that it was erroneous to say CPDM militants were teaching the President a lesson.

He likened the situation to soldiers who because of disagreement with their commander allowed the enemy to overrun and defeat them. The celebration ended with a solidarity march from the secretariat to Town Green and back.
