The cheque of FCFA 60 million was presented on Wednesday to the governor of the Central Region by Albert Kouinche, representing the elite. This cheque was presented in the auditorium of the Yaounde City Hall to the Governor of the Central Region, Joseph Wilson Otto.

This donation is the contribution of the Social Group of 30 "GS 30", an association of the elite of the Western Region under the leadership of Albert Kouinche MP.

The motivations of this act of solidarity, the chairman of GS-30 highlighted the commitment of the association to support the efforts of the president and army chief, Paul Biya to secure the territory of Cameroon against abuses of the Islamist sect Boko Haram.

During the ceremony, Albert Kouinche praised the moral contribution of the Chairman of the Committee of Wise GS-30, Victor Fotso.

For his part, the governor, Joseph Otto Wilson congratulated the GS-30 for "patriotic and republican gesture". He immediately handed the cheque to the paymaster general of Yaounde to transfer to the Treasury, including the account opened for this purpose on the instructions of the Head of State.

In addition to this financial contribution, it has also been given food for internally displaced people in the Far North region. These were received by the Cameroon Red Cross.
