Several types of work are underway in the execution of the construction of the Yaounde-Douala highway.
Currently, nearly 374 personal, Cameroonians and expatriates are at work on the ground where they plan to put in place 850 engines. For the moment, 417 are stationed including 160 in activity.
However, the poor condition of the soil in place tends to slow down tasks. This information was revealed yesterday, by Sahli Jalet, head of mission of the SCET Tunisia group control / Louis Berger, during the third session of the Steering and monitoring Committee for the design and construction of the Yaounde-Douala highway project, phase 1.
The meeting was chaired by public works Minister Patrice Amba Salla at the Congress Hall in Yaoundé. According to the head of the monitoring mission, the bulk of the project is still on paper, with several studies in filmmaking.
On this issue, geometric and hydraulic studies of PK0 and PK 10 were approved. In the same vein, two books have also been validated. Patrice Amba Salla also stressed the importance of the research of the financing of the second phase of the project and appealed to donors.
The timeliness of this important work include two slices. The first concerns the design and studies for a period of 12 months. With regard to the second, it is the achievement and the works for a time estimated at 48 months therefore total 60 months.
