Y'de: Regional Governors meet in bi annual conference

Governors of Cameroon`s ten regions are examining the social, economic and security situation of their areas of command during the second semester meeting in Yaounde.

The ten regional governors are all present in Yaounde for the first biannual meeting for 2016.

The governors conference is discussing the country's social, economic and cultural lives during their first the first half of the year.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, René Emmanuel Sadi, during the opening ceremony lamented on mounting insecurity especially in the northern and eastern parts of Cameroon.

He said insecurity provokes misery and thwarts development initiatives.

The conference taking place at the Yaounde city council premises, will also discuss on preparations for the 2016 Women`s Africa Cup of Nations that Cameroon is hosting in November and a security coverage plan for the event.

Regional governors will also recieve government's directives on issues of security, development and social cohession
