The 2013 accounts of the Yaounde II Council in the Mfoundi Division of the Centre Region have been described as satisfactory as the council works for efficiency in implementing life-changing projects of the municipality.
Councillors of the locality met in Yaounde on August 21, 2014 in an ordinary session to approve the council’s 2013 accounts that stood at FCFA 1. 370 billion.
Among other things was the evaluation of the ongoing development projects in the locality. The Mayor of Yaounde II, Luc Assamba said the locality was in dire need of accessible secondary roads, reason why their road map was being respected to the letter, especially that on the improvement of road infrastructure.
Some stretches in the Nkomkana neighbourhood and in Tsinga, from the old council building to Nouvelle Road Bastos are currently undergoing rehabilitation, he revealed.
Inhabitants of the Yaounde II council area are already enjoying potable water and electricity but that is not enough. Luc Assamba hinted that he was working for electricity and water network to be extended to all the nooks and crannies of the locality.
Prominent among the council’s earmarked projects are the construction of a banquet hall, a slaughter house and the putting in place of a community radio.
After paying rents for over 15 years, the council is proud to have its beautiful structure, provide community boreholes, computerize the council, electrify some neighbourhoods of the council area and have over 300 temporary recruits.
